Clark Gable [Clark Gable]
(1901–60) a US film actor who was especially famous in the 1930s and 1940s. He was sometimes referred to as the ‘King of Hollywood’. His best-known role was as Rhett Butler in ↑Gone with the Wind. Gable won an ↑Oscar for his part in the comedy ↑It Happened One Night, and his other films included ↑Mutiny on the Bounty (1935) and The Misfits (1960) with Marilyn Monroe.
